TCHS Sports Medicine was established in 2025 at Thayer County Health Services with a clear vision: to deliver high-quality athletic care directly to local schools and the community. We believe athletes of all ages deserve the same level of expertise often found only in larger cities, and this program was created to remove barriers to care while enhancing the health, safety, and performance of our student-athletes.
Our Sports Medicine Program is powered by a dedicated team—an athletic trainer, physical therapy assistant, physical therapists, family practice providers, and an orthopaedic surgeon. Together, they recognized the growing need for comprehensive sports-related injury prevention, evaluation, and treatment in our region. Their commitment led to the development of a program that offers on-site athletic training services for area schools, rapid injury assessment and diagnosis, access to timely surgical intervention, and individualized rehabilitation plans tailored to each athlete’s needs.
